To Do List: Before you move into your new home.

Organise pest contol.
Make sure that all connections of services have been done. ( Gas, Water, Electricity, Phone and internet )
Change the locks and have keys cut.
Check the smoke detectors are working and change the batteries.
Have an emergency first aid kit on hand.
Prepare your emergency evacuation plan.
Have any repairs, painting and alterations done.
Clean both the inside and outside.
Make sure there is a clear path for the removalists to move your furniture in. Trim branches and make sure there are no slippery surfaces.
Purchase any items that you may need and didn’t already have such as floor rugs and lamps.
Make a map of where your removalist will place your furniture and packing cartons. Give them a copy on the moving day.
Take the kids on a walk round the neighbourhood so they are familiar with how to get to school.
Plan your first week’s meals so that you don’t have to think on the run when you are tired from the move.
