We all know the declutter pile set up: keep, throw and donate, but a common question we get asked is ‘Where can you donate furniture in Newcastle?’
When preparing to move, it can be the perfect time to declutter your home, and this can often involve the decision of whether some items of furniture need to stay or go.
Maybe you’re trying your best to embody Marie Kondo and asking yourself, ‘Does this bring me joy?’ Or maybe you’re questioning if it is time to let go of the lounge you’ve had since your uni share house days.
Whatever your situation is, getting rid of your existing used furniture can be tricky. You don’t want it to go to waste, but you might not have the capability to deliver it to a new location. And battling the back-and-forth negotiations on Facebook Marketplace isn’t for everybody.
Luckily for you, we have made a list of places that will accept quality donated furniture.
Keep reading to find out where you can donate furniture in Newcastle.

Givit is an Australian organisation based in Brisbane, QLD dedicated to matching your generosity with genuine needs of Australian families. Instead of traditional donations, they focus on specific items that families urgently require, allowing you to match your contributions with their immediate needs.
We do recommend you contact any of the listed charities to confirm they have capacity to accept large donations before donating furniture.
